John Harrison lives in Snowdonia, North Wales, on a smallholding with his wife Val and a pride of miniature lions who can be mistaken for moggies.
They grow their own fruit and vegetables whilst experimenting with different gardening methods. His aim is to be as self-sufficient as possible.

He has had eight books published to date, including the bestselling Vegetable Growing Month by Month, The Essential Allotment Guide and Easy Jams, Chutneys and Preserves along with numerous magazine articles. As well as writing, he runs his popular award-winning allotment-garden.org website from his home.
